On April 8, 2019, the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) published a preliminary list of products from the European Union (EU) that may be subject to additional Section 301 tariffs. This measure has been proposed in retaliation for the harm imposed on the US economy by EU aircraft subsidies.

A number of products in the civil aviation sector are included on the list. Also included are a vast array of foodstuffs, housewares and textiles.

As the USTR notice only marks the commencement of their analysis, it is too early to tell if all products will remain on the list or the exact amount of additional duties that will be imposed.
