- October 31, 2024
We have exciting news to report for aluminum extrusion importers!
Late yesterday, the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) announced its determination that the U.S. aluminum industry is not materially injured or threatened with material injury by reason of imports of aluminum extrusions from China, Colombia, Ecuador, India, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam.
Considering the USITC’s decision, the U.S. Department of Commerce (Commerce) will not issue antidumping duty (ADD) orders on imports of this product from China, Colombia, Ecuador, India, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam; and countervailing duty (CVD) orders on imports of this product from China, Indonesia, Mexico, and Turkey.
According to the Commission, a final public report will contain all information related to the investigation and its findings. The report will be available by December 10, 2024; once published, it may be accessed on the USITC website. If the ITC determines that material injury or threat of material injury does not exist, this proceeding will be terminated, and all cash deposits will be refunded.
For more details on the status of proceedings, links to relevant documents, and additional information for these investigations, please refer to the Commission’s Investigations Database System (IDS).
We will continue to monitor the situation and provide status updates as they become available.
