- January 28, 2020
Per our previous Shap Flash, President Trump authorized the U.S. to impose an additional 25% tariff on certain steel products — and an additional 10% tariff on certain aluminum products — in response to the lack of positive results from existing 232 tariffs.
The U.S. Department of Commerce has now released an official list of products subject to additional Section 232 tariffs.
Annex I: Derivatives of Aluminum Articles contains 6 HTS subheadings subject to additional 10% tariffs.
Annex II: Derivatives of Steel Articles contains 4 HTS subheadings subject to additional 25% tariffs.
The effective date of the additional duties is February 8th, 2020.
