LA/LB Truckers Plan Work Stoppage to Protest AB5LA/LB Truckers Plan Work Stoppage to Protest AB5
- July 13, 2022
Shapiro has received multiple reports that a group of truckers responsible for moving containers in and out of the marine terminals at the Los Angeles and Long Beach (LA/LB) ports is participating in a work stoppage today (Wednesday, July 13) in protest of a controversial California state law, AB5.
Owner operators are protesting outside the TTI and FMS terminals, thereby causing congestion at the port. FMS is reporting business as usual at this time; however, TTI terminal is helping maintain the flow of truckers going in and out by extending the appointment times.
Customers may experience potential freight delays as a result of the protest.
Shapiro is closely monitoring the situation and will provide status updates as they become available.
