The government of India has taken drastic action for the containment of Covid19. As of midnight, they have instituted a countrywide lockdown for 21 days. Please note the details below:
- Total nationwide lockdown effective March 24th at midnight through April 14th, all states included.
- All non-essential factories and services are closed, and employees are working from home.
- Ocean ports and Customs are open and operational though staffing is greatly reduced.
- Only essential goods will move. Regular general cargo will not be allowed to be transported.
- Any exports of non-essential cargo destined for India should be scheduled for arrival dates after April 14th when the lockdown is lifted.
- All passenger flights are stopped through the lockdown. Freighters are allowed, but the majority of space from India is reduced.
