Vietnam to Enter COVID Shutdown Effective Tomorrow – July 9, 2021Vietnam to Enter COVID Shutdown Effective Tomorrow – July 9, 2021
- July 8, 2021
In wake of the rapidly deteriorating COVID situation in Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces, Vietnam officials have announced that the country will be instituting a full lockdown effective tomorrow – July 9, 2021 – to attempt to contain the outbreak.
Please note the following details:
- Many offices will be severely reducing in-office staffing levels and will not be allowed to receive any drivers and messengers until further notice.
- Trucking operations among each province will be heavily affected due to mandated COVID tests for drivers, which will lead to trucking delays at ports; each driver must take and pass a COVID test when moving among provinces.
- Importers should prepare for impending service disruptions as the high volume of people working from home nationwide slows down Internet speeds.
Shapiro will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.
