USTR Announces Additional Exclusions for Medical ProductsUSTR Announces Additional Exclusions for Medical Products
- March 26, 2020
The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) issued a new set of medical product exclusions from Section 301 List 4A Chinese tariffs.
The List 4A notice contains 5 HTS subheadings completely excluded from List 4a tariffs and 7 partially excluded subheadings, which cover 36 separate exclusion requests.
The exclusions will retroactively apply to all products meeting the specified criteria effective September 1, 2019 and will expire on September 1, 2020.
All importers who have an eligible product are able to claim an exemption under the new exclusions, regardless of whether the importer filed an exclusion request. The USTR will continue to issue decisions on pending exclusion requests on a periodic basis.
For all Shapiro customers, if you have requested this service, your Shapiro point of contact will be in touch shortly to discuss the latest round of exclusions, should they apply to your products.
Shapiro will also continue to monitor and provide status updates on our Section 301 Tariff News page as they become available.
