USTR to Publish Official Notice Suspending Section 301 List 4B TariffsUSTR to Publish Official Notice Suspending Section 301 List 4B Tariffs
- December 17, 2019
The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) has officially announced that the additional 15% tariffs on $160 billion of List 4B products that were set to take effect on December 15th are suspended indefinitely.
Per our previous Flashes, President Trump announced last Friday that the U.S. would not be imposing the additional 15% tariffs as part of “Phase One” of the U.S. – China Pact.
The notice doesn’t include any additional information regarding Trump’s vow to reduce by half (to 7.5%) the 15% tariffs on $120 billion of List 4A products that took effect on September 1st. While there is not yet an effective date for this planned reduction, USTR officials expect to issue another notice regarding the applicable duty reduction for List 4A products in the near future.
