In a series of Tweets elicited this morning, President Trump stated that he plans to restore Section 232 tariffs on all steel and aluminum being imported to the U.S. from Brazil and Argentina.

The President cited the continued devaluation of Brazilian and Argentinian currencies, which impede profitability of U.S. agricultural exports, as the impetus for his plan to reinstate Section 232 tariffs against Brazil and Argentina.

There has not been an official statement made by the USTR, nor has anything been posted in the Federal Register at this time; so there are no specifics available as to when these restored tariffs will take effect.
