Shapiro Welcomes Nina DiVittorio as New York Branch Manager
- February 2, 2016
Shapiro, a 100-year-old global transportation and regulatory compliance leader, welcomes Nina DiVittorio to the Branch Manager role at its location in Rosedale, NY.
DiVittorio, a licensed Customhouse Broker (CHB) with over 20 years of industry experience, was previously with DHL Global Forwarding, where she served as CHB Supervisor and Office Manager. DiVittorio managed brokerage operations and supported key high-profile accounts to ensure customer service and regulatory compliance. Nina also served as a Business Development Specialist for DHL, where she worked directly with client and sales channels to develop strong business relationships and enhance the customer experience through training, media, and consulting. Nina is a graduate of Baruch College, CUNY and a member of the National Customs Brokers & Freight Forwarders Association of America (NCBFAA). She brings vast freight forwarding, regulatory, and customer experience knowledge to the Shapiro team.
In her new role, DiVittorio’s main objective will be to grow the branch’s business and presence while maintaining outstanding levels of customer service. She will oversee office operations to ensure compliance with Shapiro’s best practices and serve as a resource for operational expertise and industry knowledge. “After over 20 years of brokerage experience in New York ports, I have witnessed a paradigm shift from quality customer service and personal touch to everyone looking to maximize profit and minimize cost at the expense of quality and compliance, it is refreshing to see that Shapiro did not fold under these industry pressures,” says DiVittorio. “An opportunity was presented to work for a solid boutique company, one that has a rich history and a strong plan for continued success and growth. Shapiro felt like the right fit for me and the direction I wanted to see my career heading in the future. I love that Shapiro is a good company with a close-knit operating style where my experience and enthusiasm could be put to use for growth and development. I look forward to this new endeavor and am thrilled to join the Shapiro family.”
Margie Shapiro, Shapiro’s President and Chief Executive Officer shares DiVittorio’s enthusiasm. “Nina exudes Shapiro in temperament; there is no doubt that her skills in business administration/planning and employee development coupled with her ‘in the trenches’ experience will continue to build on our already incredibly strong customer-focused NY operation,” says Margie.
